Bought a new 8 string sx lap steel, order the certano benders and bridge for a 8 string. Strings don’t line up with the pick up and the bridge doesn’t clear the pickup either..
Anyone had this problem and is there a fix?
Basically useless it seems, spent a whole lot of money for nothing it seems….
Could shim the bridge but the string do not line up with the pickup. The original SX pick spacing is wider and by the time you get to the eighth string with the first being inline with the pickup it’s probably close to an 1/8” or more off…. |

Lower the Pickup using the two adjustment screws, or shim the bridge, either will work.
Place the bridge so that the first and last strings are equally offset to the pole screws, it will be fine, exact alignment is unnecessary _________________ Duesenberg Fairytale

You could find the right size blade pickup and the string spacing wouldn't matter. It'd prolly sound better too. Or get into slanting..... |
