Digging through an little used box of junk I found my old LENO capo. I'm pretty sure I sidelined it because the rubber tube wore out.

Does anyone have a piece of surgical tube (it looks like 1/4" ID to me) that I could buy?

Closest source I can think of around here would require an 80 mile roundtrip. Of course Amazon has it - but 10' of it seems excessive.

Surprisingly, Home Depot and Lowe's carry Tygon (PVC) clear tubing in a variety of sizes. If they represent your 80 mile rt, I can look to see if I have some. What length do you need?

Thanks for the responses so far...

I believe the stuff is surgical tubing - I think it's the same tube used in slingshots. It's very soft and stretchy and was on this capo when I bought it years ago. I've seen it kind of brown colored as well as off-white.

All of the stores mentioned so far are 40-45 miles away - one way.

I only need a piece long enough to cover the bar shown in the photo = probably 4" at most.

Amazon does have it, but I wouldn't have much use for 10' of it.

I don't have any, but I wonder if theratube or exercise tubing might work. Is there a PT office nearby?

You can get silicone tubing off of Amazon or lots of other places in many diameters. It seems to hold up better than the rubber surgical tubing.

I've use that hdwe. store clear plastic tubing, but boy, it's a PIA to install.

Just hang on a little bit, I remember seeing someone posting that they have some extra to pass on.

Here is a very old discussion about tubing for guitar stands, and possible harm to guitar finishes:

This is true on my Mother's grave...

Last night before playing a gig I was walking toward the bandstand and spotted this piece of soft tubing on the floor. There were five other musicians tuning up and fooling with amps, etc.

I held up the piece of tubing and asked "...did any of you drop this little piece of tube?"

No one.

I'm getting a little chill just thinking about it...
