Some of you may know Thiel Hatt. He was a great steel player. He passed away this past week.

Rest in peace, Thiel. He was a valued member of this community. He built some really cool instruments, including this one.

Thiel will surely be missed. He played in the same band as my dad for many years here in TN before they moved back to Utah. He was a great player and seemed to know how to fix about anything mechanical. He was fun to be around and always saying the funniest things. A year or so before he passed, he sold his main guitar a beautiful Zum to another of his former bandmates here in TN and a friend of our family. I don't think he really plays much steel, but he wanted to bring it home because of how much he cared for Thiel.
