I would buy a hex nylon rod like this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/123760991410

and chop it up and drill holes. Unfortunatly they don't ship so Norway difficult for me.

Best regards - Sveinung

You need to know what size pull rods your guitar uses or post what brand it is.

Williams tuning nuts are for small rods i.e. 3/32. .093

Show Pro Steel Guitars lists the standard ones for larger rods.

I'm looking for another link to someone who sells them for Emmons 7/64 rods and will post it later.

I hear Michael is coming back on line pretty soon with his psgparts.com website and he usually has a good selection.

I have a selection of these in all sizes and in a few colors. Please let me know what rod diameter you have, length and quantity you need.

Me too Johnie. It takes special jigging to do this even in short lengths. Most likely a set up on a lathe which I don't have.

Ok folks My tuner solution

https://www.ebay.com/itm/225962476734?hash=item349c69c4be:g:gDQAAOSwPQJktQIY&var=525056421345

These are pre drilled listed as stand offs.

The 2.5mm will thread on to a 3/32" rod (a quick trace with a 4/40 tap even better)

7/64" rod needs a 5/40 tap run through and so on.

The 3mm nuts will slide over the rod and can be cut for spacers between the nut and pull finger.

25mm is about 1"long so spacers may be needed.

The hex size on 2.5mm is the same as the standard tuner wrench.

Hope this helps
Barry

Barry, your link goes to your personal eBay activity but does not show the actual link to these spacers/standoffs. Perhaps you can edit it to show the product...interested in this.

Barry - do you mean 7/64" rod needs 5/40 tap run?

Thanks!

Hey David If I remember correctly 7/64 is what the old Sho Buds used and they used some king of rolled thread. I remember reading some where that 5/40 was a good thread to use with them I've used 5/40 and never had a problem.

Thanks, Barry. My Desert Rose has 7/64" rods. Your post reads 7/32, not 7/64, which is why I asked. All good, and especially good information!!

Exactly right Barry. .109 dia. pull rods with a rolled thread which takes them up close to .125 so yeah, 5-40 is right.

....and I'll trade you my day for yours...couldn't be any worse than mine. I'm suffering severe back pain and eating pills like tic tacs. Not good.
