this is Billy Cardine's clinesmith. Buy with confidence. It is set up so pedals can be added. |

Appears to be this one, which was sold here last year by Erik Alderink - https://bb.steelguitarforum.com//viewtopic.php?p=3143096
I say this after looking carefully at the detailed pictures Eric put up. I confess I thought hard about this one as a pedal steel (he had the parts) when it was on here, but I couldn't justify it after buying Mike Neer's Clinesmith D10, which is all the console steel I should ever need. More than I should ever need. And certainly more than I deserve, LOL. |

Yeah that is Billy Cardines steel - great guy and probably the best all around resophonic player today…imo
I got to hang out with him some during a Christmas acoustic jam I went to and didn’t realize he also played steel and was into Hawaiian music which lead to our love of cool steel guitars and that we both owned Clinesmith T8s! He plays a Clinesmith reso and frypan _________________ '65 Sho-Bud D-10 Permanent • '54 Fender Dual-8 • Clinesmith T-8 • '38 Ric Bakelite • '92 Emmons D-10 Legrande II |

Are you saying this is a different steel than the one Eric Alderink sold here last year? The photos on that old thread are now gone, but I looked at them carefully yesterday, and every aspect, including the case and the label on it, looked identical, right down to the position of the wires, capacitors (orange drops), and pots.
If this isn't the same steel, it's definitely a doppelganger. |

Billy said he was the second owner. It is definitely Billy Cardine's because I chatted with him on Reverb about it. |

Dave - Billy’s Reverb ad says he is the second owner so yes I’d assume the same steel
Todd, I think no longer does the ‘old style’ bigsby fretboard that is 1 piece cast - they are probably a pita. They are now a separate fretboard attached to the cast neck as PA did in the 50s Todd possibly came to the same conclusion PA did in the extra work needed or maybe as the 1 pc cast neck cooled it threw off the scale - don’t know _________________ '65 Sho-Bud D-10 Permanent • '54 Fender Dual-8 • Clinesmith T-8 • '38 Ric Bakelite • '92 Emmons D-10 Legrande II |
