I know there is a lot of info in the archives regarding this amp. However I must say that I am completely blown away with the “Tone” particularly. I heard a “Great” Steel Player named “John Lacey” in my area using it and the tone coming from this amp was unbelievable. Of course John’s great technique also had something to do with it. I have been looking at alternatives to help my aging back as I have a number of gigs coming up this summer.

So I purchased one and all my expectations have been realized. So anyone looking for an amp with great tone, light weight and outstanding price should give this one a serious review.

Larry

Yes I used one last year on a trip abroad and it was as good as anything I’ve used before. I was playing outdoors and my friends could hear me in the next block.
But great tone too.

I have a MkI, been singing its praises here for a while now. I think it’s a great amp for steel or guitar. Might get a II for double-duty gigs, if they ever come back for me.

Yes, Larry, I’ve been pretty happy with my katana as endorsed by Mike Bourque to me as an alternative to my 112. It’s actually got feature bloat as far as versatility goes. I have yet to access the computer interface it offers and just use the onboard effects. The basic tone of the amp is fine and the power switching capabilities are handy. Great choice, Larry.
