This beautiful New Yorker was the first of it's kind. National made many variations of these until the late 40's early 50's. This is the first. This one also is the first electric guitar with 3 pickups! Two are under the neck one near the arm rest. I have never seen one of these in such great original condition. The power cord is 12 feet long works great. No scratchy noise, everything works as it should. I don't think this was played much. Even the 89 year old case is in great condition and all the snaps and buckles intact. Although the pickups do not have the power of the early Rickenbacker horse shoes, they have beautiful tone variations. You can get a Country and Western style sound as well as a darker Hawaiian sound just by turning the knobs. I just put a new set of C6 strings on her. The harmonics work great as well. Basically i had to turn my amp up louder when switching from this guitar after my rick. No big deal Waverly tuners which were only used on the first model. The only paint chips are at the top of the headstock. Otherwise she's mint. This is a gem for collectors and players. I have only seen one other first model and it was all messed up, missing knobs, paint was repainted, no case etc. That one sold for 900.00. I am listing this at a very fair price. I have it on ebay also but will end that listing if someone from the forum reaches out before the bidding is over. 6 more days. UPDATE! I WAS INFORMED BY A GUY THAT COLLECTS NATIONAL GUITARS THAT THIS ONE WAS ACTUALLY CALLED THE HAWAIIAN EVEN THOUGH IT'S GOT THE SAME SHAPE AS THE NEW YORKERS. VERY RARE FIRST ONE MADE AFTER THE HORSESHOE CRAB LAPSTEELS. ALSO THE ONLY ONE MADE WITH THREE PICKUPS! THEY ALSO MADE ONE WITH TWO PICKUPS BUT THEN MADE THEM WITH ONE FOR COST REASONS. I CANNOT FIND ANOTHER ANYWHERE. IF I DON'T SELL IT I WON'T BE UNHAPPY LOL. I appreciate all the help and info from anyone. thanks, tom.
