Currently searching for someone that builds lightweight Steelguitar cases from same or similar material as drum cases.
Any information very much appreciated. |

Don't think it would be strong enough to carry a steel guitar very well. |

Respectfully,I just flew my steel in a case built from that material(vulcanized fiber)all the way to Dublin,Ireland and back...and it didn't even get knocked in tune...

That is good to know. I have been thinking of making cases with cardboard for steel guitars. It should work good too. |

I have one of this type of cases like Steve & it works great & so much lighter.
If someone would build these cases there would be a waiting list a mile long. |

The composite material too build a case like Steve Hinson built I was told made this
Type of case too expensive to consider building.
The material comes in large sheets.
The cost of plywood has gone too the moon also
Plus the hardware an material cost have skyrocketed also.
I no longer build shipping crates or ship steels it’s cost prohibitive!!

I love everything Jimmie has built for me. Especially his cases! I have some of his split cases and they are light weight and super tough. Jimmie is a great person to work with too. Highly recommend! |
