My favorite gospel group of all time. I regret that I never saw them in person. Jack was a great player.

Tony,
I don't know for sure, but I think it is one and the same.

Look at how many years were between these recordings. The young, and I mean young, Jack Smith was new to steel and had not developed "that" touch.
But listening to the album, I hear a lot of the same characteristics between the early and later recordings.

Just my opinion.

Thanks for posting these Duane! The best Gospel Group ever! Jack Smith was one the first steel players I ever saw on TV, those same Jubilee shows on Sunday mornings. Been a fan ever since.
