Howdy! Gathering some opinions. A buddy lent me a D8 to try out on some gigs. I have the back neck tuned to a B11, my preferred/most comfortable tuning. What would a complimentary tuning be on the front neck? I’d be playing a variety of genres, depending on the gig - Hawaiian, swing, rock/songwriter/blues. Thanks in advance! PK |

I'd go with C6 with a low Bb:
L-H. C Bb C E G A C E |

I use a B11th as my main tuning too, high-to-low:
E C# A F# D# C# A B
Some kind of E13th is my favorite compliment for it, has a very different, brighter sound
E C# B G# F# D B G#
My third neck these days is C diatonic, which I use less than the other two
E C B A G F E C# |

Joe - really liking the E13 as a complimentary sound. Thanks for the suggestions, you guys! |
