Hey there,
I have a boss katana 100, and a Mullen discovery.
I am looking for suggestions on what settings others use that have this amp.
Thanks |

Lots of people here seem to like the acoustic setting but I find it a bit sterile and much prefer the clean amp model.
With my EMCI I tend to run the volume and the master very high and use the gain to set the volume.
Bass knob often around 3 o’clock, presence 9 o’clock, treble 12 o’clock and midrange 11 o’clock or a little less.
The plate reverb seems to be the best to my ear, the spring doesn’t sound like a good spring and the hall is unfocused IMO.
There’s a mountain of quality effects and complexity you can get into with it but I try to keep it simple for live work and find it’s a surprisingly good sounding amp once you find the settings that work for you (I found it took me a while to really find my sound on it but now I really like it and don’t miss my NV112).
Another neat ‘feature’ is that (if you’re light enough) the 100W 1x12 on its side is within 1/2” of a normal pac a seat height so you can sit on the amp in a pinch which I’ve done a few times! _________________ Music mixer, producer and pedal steel guitarist
