Thanks for posting, Craig. Larry was a great talent, right outta the chute.
I just barely remember seeing that wild kid on TV when he wasn’t much older than my oldest brother. Five year old me wondered how he got on TV while I had to go to school and church. Figured it had something to do with that guitar.
I did not know he co-wrote Delta Dawn. It is an admirable thing for somebody to survive childhood stardom and go on to have a long, healthy, productive life out of the spotlight. RIP, Mr. Collins. |

Sorry to see this as I remember seeing the Collins Kids on TV back in the late 1950's. That was the first time I saw a youngster play guitar like that! (Unlike nowadays, it was a real rarity back then.)
