I used to have a band, "One Step" in Nashville, in 1990, and Regi Wooten played bass and guitar. He wound up with my Peavey Special 130.
I was happy to see he still uses it.
Here he does a "Rig Rundown" with Victor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPz3Dd754w0

I played over 1,000 gigs with a Special 130. Once I changed the speaker to an EV Force 12, it sounded fantastic. With the stock speaker it was harsh.

I imagine the original Scorpion speaker has been replaced. Regi feeds it into a Marshall amp when needed too
The Special's size, weight and power are a big plus.
Mike, with all those gigs, besides the speaker, did you ever have any problems with the electronics?

Chris, that is so cool you were in a band with Regi Wooten. I’ve only been to Nashville twice, once in 2006, I got to sit in with a couple of the Wootens at a little basement dive blues bar down the hill from Scarret-Bennet. Rudy Wooten (RIP) played two saxes at once, I played harp, and a guy named Al Ward played lead guitar and sang. We played until 2 in the morning, and as a guy from a little town in Idaho, it is still one of my favorite musical memories. Very cool that Regi is still using your amp.

By any chance do you know Al Ward? I always wondered what ever happened to him.

Chris, I have a Special 130 that worked perfectly with a speaker swap. I mistakenly plugged an effects out into it's send jack on the back and it's caused a overload and some weird noise. The amp is sidelined till I find the fault or move it to a speaker only cabinet.

These have been discussed here before.
Special 130, Bandit, Studio Pro 40/50.

Zac Childs and Rhett Shull have done Youtube videos on them in the past.

Good sounding amps.
