Doug, in the 1992 issue of Steel Guitar World mag in your tab article you are playing a D10 Emmons in the photo.

Of course the magazine was in black and white, but the finish on that guitar looks to be unique. I don't know if it's an unusual curly maple finish, a mod job, or if it's just that photos were sometimes not really clear in the magazines early issues. Care to comment? Do you recall?

By the way, I always enjoyed your tabs. They were easy to read and very helpful. Also educational. Thanks.

Interesting question, Jerry. The low-res printing in those days gave everything a texture it didn't necessarily have in real life Smile

It’s a mod job. That was ‘78 D-10 that I played for about 12 years, 5 & 6 nights a week and it was very worn. So I had the guitar completely rebuilt and I decided to change the mica at that time. The new mica was black and had a textured look.
