Great stuff. I love those synchopations around 1:55. Seven string bakelite Ric, what a beautiful guitar. Very Happy

Thanks all. Regarding the tuning, it's E6 (low octave)

B
G#
E
C#
B
G#
E

I put thicker strings on the guitar for this tuning. I wanted to play the tune in the same key and octave as Duane Eddy.

It's the same intervals as the (7-string) C6 tuning I normally use:

G
E
C
A
G
E
C

5th
3rd
root
6th
5th
3rd
root

almost has a bari guitar sound to it. The tremelo is dialed in perfect. Nice mixing and recording too. Most people don't get to that level.

Thanks Chris, The low string (7) is tuned to low E, the same note as a standard guitar. But as you said, it sounds almost baritone on this lap steel.

Regarding the tremolo... I recorded the lap steel "clean" (no effects other than reverb) and I added tremolo in the mixing process. I listened to Duane Eddy's original, and I tinkered with my trem speed until it was about the same as his.
As far as mixing and recording, I've had a lot of experience in recording studios in the past 45 years and also done a lot of home recording in recent years. Thanks for checking out the video.
