Friends,

I am sure this has been posted before but I noticed yesterday that when I use my f lever to raise e's it is slightly engaging my c pedal and making my chord rather out of tune. Is there an easy fix? Guitar is a Mullen RP.

Thank you,

It may just be overtuned. (See the sticky on "Overtuning and Undertuning".) Back off both 4th string raises, and then tune the 4th raise on the C-pedal, and then retune the 4th string raise on the F-lever. Then report back.

You can also turn the guitar up on it's side, and watch what's happening while you actuate the F-lever. You may be able to see where the problem originates.

Donny's right.

Both are pulling the 4th string - perhaps the rods are binding just a touch (they're side-by-side, after all). That's why looking at the underside as you operate both the pedal and KL might reveal to issue.

(Jon Light's 'sticky' is invaluable. Unrelated to your problem, only half an hour ago his concise instructions solved a problem for me. I added a pull to my C6 vertical KL - raising the 7th to D - and I needed to give the KL more travel because it was 'over-tuning'. Thanks, Jon!)
