Jeff, I'm pretty happy with the stock speaker after I downloaded the tone studio and adjusted the mids to my taste. I have a few speakers to try but I usually just test them in separate cabinets by disconnecting the stock speaker wires and use a jumper to test. I use one with alligator clips on one end and a quarter inch male connector on the other. I haven't done that on the Katana but I did on my Tonemaster Twin Reverb. The improvements were minor so I stayed stock. |

Larry, Would you please share any more info on the tone studio down load and application of it. I have one of those amps and find myself never satisfied with the tone, always adjusting knobs. Like the light weight and low price. |

Larry, you can download the tone studio from Boss free. You need the proper cable to use on the amp. Looks like the usb to printer type, but all cables are not equal. Some don't work. Carefully follow the instructions on the software installation. It took me a few tries to get it right. The driver must be downloaded 1st as per the Boss Katana instructions on the site. Once you got it up and running you can swap effects, tweak settings, save your work and assign the settings to any one of the amps positions. There is also a 3rd party app for phone or tablet called Katana Librarian. This is 8.99 on Google play and works fine but a bit more difficult because of your phones screen size. Boss files can be shared with others and I may upload mine at some point.
However every steel responds differently and my taste may not be what you want. |

I put a TT12 in mine. Made a world of difference. But, you have to give it break in time to get the best result. |
