The US Navy Band Country Current is a full-time country band (started in 1972) comprised of active-duty sailors in the US Navy which provides music support to the President of the United States PERMANENTLY stationed in Washington DC.
We are RE-OPENING our pedal steel guitar position and auditioning candidates on an appointment-only basis.
This is an INCREDIBLE opportunity to serve your country and have a 30-year career playing pedal steel guitar and country music. This band has performed all over the world with some of the most famous musicians in country music as well as the "Grand Ole Opry".
Current MAXIMUM age to join is 41!!!!
Starting salary for a new member of the U.S. Navy Band is $73,056 - $78,096 plus 30 days paid leave annually and full benefits for members and dependents. Those selected for the U.S. Navy Band are advanced to the paygrade of E-6 (musician 1st class) following recruit training, under a contract for permanent duty with the U.S. Navy Band. Additionally, as of August 2022, new members may be eligible for student loan repayment up to $65,000.
