I am trying to decide, which are the better nut to use and where to obtain them. Any information would be helpful, thanks. _________________ I am currently running a Simmons SD10, Peavey Nashville 400 that's packing a 15" BW, Peavey Delta Fex effects processor, and a Match Box. Just curious, just curios. Just mainly trying to source a supplier of these rollers and which is actually the better, of the two. I am getting things ready to begin a much desired attempt at building myself pedal steel guitar, and learn all about the intricate workings of the changer and such. For many, many years, I've always had a desire and wanted to build one, not only to see if I could do it but see how well I can do it. I love a challenge, no matter how difficult. _________________ I am currently running a Simmons SD10, Peavey Nashville 400 that's packing a 15" BW, Peavey Delta Fex effects processor, and a Match Box. The 1960's era Show-Buds had the little "Ball Ends" from strings for rollers. In 1970 when I built a steel guitar the Sho-Bud Permeant, I used as a pattern had (Ball Ends) for rollers. I used ball ends and opened some of the groves with a round needle file.
There was a post here on the forum. Someone had removed the rollers from a new MSA Legend guitar, And mixed them up. I believe it was Johnny Cox wrote, That from some tests MSA done. The wound strings used Stainless Steel Rollers, The plain strings used Aluminum Rollers for better sound on the Legend.
And the plot thickens. |
