I am currently fixing up an old guitar that has a changer axle that is adjustable. I have seen a few photos on some older guitars with the same design. Its torn down now and being cleaned, just seeing if there is anything to consider when reassembling. I know this will effect the scale length, but my approach would be to set the center of the changer axle at the proper scale length and leave it be. Any ideas or tips welcome.

I would keep the bridge straight. On an angle there is a slight twisting effect between the strings and the fingers which II image would increase wear.
