Hi all, another Friday and time for another Pedal Steel Only arrangement. In fact, this is the final arrangement planned for the Pedal Steel Only playlist - though you never know what the future may bring! I thought it fitting to end the playlist with the same song the Beatles ended the "White Album", the bittersweet "Good Night".
Sung by Ringo, it's the only song in the Beatles catalog to exclusively feature him. Other "solo" Beatles songs included George's "Within You Without You", John's "Julia" and several from Paul: "Yesterday", "Wild Honey Pie", "Blackbird", "Martha My Dear", "Mother Nature's Son" & "Her Majesty".
The Pedal Steel Only playlist includes several Grateful Dead/Jerry Garcia arrangements such as: "To Lay Me Down", "Ship of Fools", "Candyman", "Rosemary", "Mountains of the Moon", "Row Jimmy", "High Time" & "China Doll".
"Good Night" joins several other Beatles arrangements such as: "Strawberry Fields Forever", "The Fool on the Hill", "Julia", "Across the Universe", "She's Leaving Home", "Hello Goodbye" and "Long, Long, Long".
In addition there are also arrangements of "Time Waits For No One", "Lady Jane" & "Wild Horses" by the Rolling Stones.
Other arrangements include, "A Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procol Harum, "Nights in White Satin" by The Moody Blues, "Starman" by David Bowie, "Good Advices" by REM, "White Rabbit" by the Jefferson Airplane, "The Crystal Ship" by The Doors & "Fat Old Sun" by Pink Floyd.
