I inquired about having a Hipshot Double Shot installed on a Beard Blackbeard. I was advised the guitar with Hip Shot would no longer fit in the original TKL case after install.
Looking for height of the hipshot alone with fine tuners raised for G to D tuning or which ever position is highest?
Hoping an oversize case I already own may work.
Thanks!

Did you ask Beard Guitars directly? I would think that they would have the most experience with this and could tell you whether your guitar would fit. Good luck! _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

Brad,
Good suggestion.
I planned on calling them after the Holiday.
Also just curious about other's issue with the need for a case change.
The Hipshot Site actually has a link to the unit dimensions, but it looks like installation instructions.
No dimensions in MMs or inches that I could find.
Thanks,
Gary |

I don't have specific dimensions but will confirm that a doubleshot equipped, Beard Ebody (including the BB) will NOT fit in a standard TKL 7801/8801 squareneck case.
Based on my observations while formerly employed at Beard. Paul contracted TKL for a custom case to fit the bill.
I'm sure PB will be happy to help if you call the shop on Tuesday.

Thanks Howard!
That is my plan.
I had a ‘72 OMI set up there a few years ago.
Excellent work. Really nice sound post setup and well worth the cost. |

I know that the DoubleShot will add just under an inch to the height of the guitar. So this is why there have been custom cases made available over the past several years.
Since some of the cases can be quite expensive, some players have had success with good quality, roomy gig bags since they can stretch a bit, unlike a hard shell case. _________________ Mark |
