Coming from the world of mandolins/fiddles/banjos/uprights, I am profoundly ignorant about how to squeeze cool tones from an amp and pedals. With the steel I've kept it on reverb and sometimes with the gain rolled up for some "bite" if the song seems to call for it... but that's really at the limit of my knowledge.

I was thinking it might be cool to try and get that juicy slide electric guitar tone you hear all over Americana albums.

Not being computer ignorant, I've plugged by computer into my Boss Katana and can adjust the amp from there. I've even downloaded and installed some of the patches that are floating around the web.

Can anyone help a pedal-challenged steeler?
(I'm running a Mullen RP with a BL705 through the Katana)
