ID this player... his nickname: "Bump"

Spotted this old photo on eBay. He signed it "Bump". It looks like 1960s or possibly late 50s, or even early 70s. There was a pedal steel player named Bump Porter here in Massachusetts back in the day. Maybe it's him? ... or maybe not.

Interesting. It's either the same person or an incredible coincidence. There is a Bump "Porter" listed as the steel guitarist on a couple of albums with a band in Massachusetts back in the 70s. And forum members here mention a Bump "Potter". Probably the same person.

Wow ! He is using the old flat steel, like Cliff Carlisle in the Stacy Phillips book..... I do miss 3rd octave frets, they help with hand placement for certain harmonics.. I think my Fender 400 has at least some 3rd octave frets, and I know my lap steels do....
