It is no secret that the Sarno V8 is a great preamp for pedal steel. I have one in a rig for playing direct, that includes a Black Box, a Strymon delay and a Neunaber Wet Reverb. That gets fed into a Two Notes CABM and then to the PA board. It sounds fabulous.
But the Sarno V8 is also an excellent preamp for a silent stage guitar rig. I have a second V8 for my strat/tele rig. From the guitar the signal goes to a Styrmon Sunset overdrive pedal, then to a reverb pedal, then to the V8, and then to another Two Notes CABM, then to the board.
Again it sounds fabulous. I can cover from warm and clean, to mid level crunch, to screaming lead tones.
All with no speakers on stage.
Brad Sarno makes great gear. _________________ It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing.

I’ll happily add my praise for the Sarno V8 Octal. Once you’ve dialed it in which doesn’t take long, you’re hooked! The test is to take the V8 out of the chain and hear what happens or doesn’t happen…I believe this is the 10th anniversary of Brad introducing this fine preamp…still going strong! I’ve had an itch to try Brad’s Revelation Pre based on how great the V8 is…we’ll see. Carl |

It's an incredible pre amp for bass also. Full, clear and present with no mud. I wish Brad made a mic pre for studio use. _________________ Bob |

I must admit, since I switched to the Line 6 "HX Stomp"... it has replaced all but my B9 pedal... and I'm one happy camper... BUT, having dealt with Brad in the past... I have only good things to say about him and his steel guitar product... can't go wrong, IMHO. _________________ Dave Wren
