Update: I ran this past Bobbe Seymour who recollected that Jerry Byrd sold this one to a fellow in Japan. Perhaps Isao Wada?

Note the JB engraved into the inside of the endplates as well as the stamped serial number.

Can YOU produce ANY documentation that JERRY BYRD ever had this unit in his possession?

Not questioning you.........

But, factually, it would be neat to know........and a very strong selling point as well.

Nice looking guitar.

Nope. As I answered before, all I have to go on is John Bechtel's recollection, a conversation with Bobbe Seymour and the serial number. I do realize that this model was also made available to a handful of Jerry's students, but since no one has yet volunteered any of the other serials, that's where the trail runs cold. I'm not a steel player nor a JB historian, I'm just a guy who happened to have a special instrument walk into his shop.

Did this ever sell? I mean the "J.B." initials could be short for "John Bonham"!! And then, wow... Who knew?!?! Laughing Laughing

Apparently it sold twelve years ago when the original post was made.
