Nice little 1938-39 Gulden-Jackson “Epitome” lap-steel guitar. These were sold door-to-door and via mail order in the late 30s and early 40s. Electronics were just fully serviced and it sounds fantastic w/ that D'Armond "Hershey Bar" pick-up. Comes w/ original case, leather handle.

Color: original cream-white crackle over gold.
Body: maple or birch.
Back: matching cream-white crackle finish.
Tuners: Likely non-original? w/ Black tuner buttons
Fretboard: colored maple, w/ dot markers & original brass frets.
Bridge: original Gibson-style chromed steel.
Pots: original vol, dated to 1938; tone was just replaced and guitar was fully serviced. Original tone control is included, might be fixable, but I couldn't get the shaft to move.
Pickup: original chromed-steel, wonderful D'Armond pickup that was later used in the famous Harmony Stratotone guitars. 6,000 turns of #44 wire gives them a great tone with natural compression.
Control plate: original black powder-coated.
Knobs: original large knurled brown/black bakelite.
Scale: 22.5"
