This is a tune I wrote a few years ago played on my Fender D8 with Leon's E13th tuning. It reminds me of the steel guitar sounds I used to hear when I was a young boy of 14 growing up in Upstate NY. My dad had passed away and Mom worked nights and it left me free to run around the streets at all hours. I used to sneak into the bars to hear Stan Fish and Andy Emmert play the steel guitar. I got kicked out often but sometimes I was able to hide in a dark corner or behind the stage. My Grandmother found out about my bar hopping and she hit the roof! She forbid me to go into the bars. She was very religious and she said the bars were full of backsliders.
So I thought "Backslidin" would be a good name for a steel guitar tune. Hope you like it. R.

Nice playing, and a great story to go along with it. |
Thanks Allen. It's not an easy tuning to improvise in, but it sound cool here and there. |

Thanks Y'all,
Glad you like it!
I had my D8 up for sale for a while but have decided to hang onto it. Maybe the Hula Monsters or Asleep @ The Wheel will call me some day. R. |
