Aloha friends,

The Third Man Theme, played on my National Tricone (1931).
A Famous Zither piece by Anton Karas from the movie

Hello Sebastian,

The Third Man Theme is one of my favorite songs, from one of my favorite films.

I've worked it out a bit on the 8-string electric, but the acoustic treatment is more delicate and faithful to the original. Anton Karas would love it. I admire the high-fret slants. Thanks. John Keefe

Very nicely done, Sebastian. When I was about six, my mother bought a 78 of that tune from the movie. We had it around the house well into the LP era.

Another great piece from the movie was Anton Karas's Farewell To Vienna, used in the final scene when she walks away down the avenue.

Thanks everybody for your nice words and great stories. Great to hear what impact the movie and it's music had on many of you. I do love the movie as well, I have to watch it again soon !
The response on this video has been exceptional good, seems many people still know that song.

John, yes, I recorded a backing track that mimics what Karas does on his Zither, I had to detune the low E string to C to get into the right range.
Backing track is available on my website.

Thanks again all of you for your support !

Sebastian
