A GFI knee lever can be converted to left knee, Right Knee or Vertical Knee Lever, I got a GFI S12 Ultra set up ExE9th. I converted it to Universal, Took the LKR knee lever and changed it to a Vertical Knee lever with no problem.

Here is a picture of a LKR I converted to a Vertical.

With the stops in the frame of the KL you can set it up and attach the rod to a cross shaft with a Bell Crank and work setting it up and adjust for the wanted pulls.
