What thread lock would stop the bolt from turning but allow adjustment if needed?

Dennis,

Use a drop of blue Loctite for the purpose you intend. You'll be able to free it up later on, unlike the red version.

This stuff.

I haven't nailed it yet in terms of how much/little to use. I've applied it too lightly and not gotten all the grip I wanted and I've slathered it and made the nut too hard to turn. But I'm convinced that there's a right amount. It would need reapplication if it were something you were turning a lot but for the little touch up tunings, it grips well but does not 'break' when you turn the nut.

edited to say -- I keep saying 'nut' for some reason. I mean the steel hex head split tuning screw on my Williams changer.
