The manager of my first band in Los Angeles (this was early 90s) was friends with David Lindley. One day, to our utter amazement, Mr. Lindley came in and recorded with us on his lap steel! He did one pass, and we were all floored —sounded fantastic. (My gosh what killer tone.) He listened back and said “I can do better” and… guess what? His second take was even better!
Such a wonderful guy. Here’s the result of that session all those years ago.

Rest peacefully, David Lindley.
