I broke a pull rod and need to buy one that will replace it. Will any currmanufacturers' pull rods work on a Carter double neck? What about the pull rod pin as well? It seems to be missing.
Thanks |

Carter rods have a rounded bend that fits around the brass pull pin in the pull bar. I haven't seen that in any other make. Al Brisco of Steel Guitars Canada has Carter parts. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . I can make the proper threaded pull rod with the shepherd's crook, but I don't think I have any dogbones, [pull pins] left.
I made a few brass barrels with a set screw that fit those bell cranks. They use a straight pull rod so the rod doesn't have to be the exact length just so it's long enough. You'd need the proper size allen wrench for the set screw.
I'm not sure if I have any stainless steel rod long enough, depends on the length you need, to fashion a rod from, but I know I have some full length tig rod the same diameter that will work. It's what I use to make pull rods for my Carter. Only issue is that it is copper in color.
If you are set on acquiring the exact factory parts I understand but if you can use these self crafted aftermarket parts I can help get you going again.
