Was not even remotely happy with my 409 into a Quilter 202 head. Dropped in a 705 and boy we are taking clean and clear. When changing tone controls I can really dial in a great sound. Wish I had done this a while ago.

I am running the mid control on full and adjusting the bass and T accordingly.

705 is my favorite and I have them on 3 steels. I will likely install some on my others. Made a big difference for me.

Larry, I recently got an S10 Show Pro and I put an old chrome 705 in there and I'm really enjoying that in there too. Got a pretty nice glassy top end that I'm enjoying. Looking forward to hearing yours sometime!

I really like 705s! Tried to put one in my '74 PP, and even with the pup height adjusting plate completely removed and the pup sitting on the changer arms, it was still too tall.
I've had them on a lot of steels, and always end up liking them lower than other pups..
Could you post a picture of yours?.. just wondering how close you have it to the strings.
Thanks!

Another "vote" for Lawrence 705.

(Also, 'honorable mention' for Lawrence 710 or XR16 on a push pull or other brands of steel guitars. Pic is an XR16 on E9th neck of my '72 PP.)

Dave it sits on the changer arms, is close to the strings, but I can live with it.
