Frank Ferera is probably the most-recorded of the early acoustic Hawaiian guitarists. This restoration is probably the best example, sonically speaking, of his playing I've heard.

Ferera in the studio. Year? Source? Instead of a modern studio, where the engineer placed the mics at various distances, here, they placed the musicians bodies at various distances from the recording input cones.
