Does anybody recognize the steel player with Skeeter Davis on this TV show with Jim Ed Brown?

Right you are Jack. Hank was a great player and friend. He could get amazing C6th stuff from his E9th tuning with 10 strings, 3 pedals and 3 knee-levers. He worked for Jim Ed for quite a while.

Hank Corwin worked, for one day, with a band I played with in the Hudson Valley. Next day he got a call from Faron Young and joined his band. Hank had a lot music education I believe from Juliard.

From Music Row:

HANK CORWIN, 73, died March 25.
Nashville steel guitarist who played in the bands of Jim Ed Brown, Faron Young and Porter Wagoner.

For over 20 years I’ve played a lot with local bass player and singer Jerry Braswell. Jerry was in Nashville for years and has a strong resume. He was in Jim Ed’s band, I believe, with Hank. Or maybe it was with Porter. He speaks of Hank often and says he was was the best musician he worked with in his Nashville time. And Hank had a Juilliard degree according to Jerry.

Thanks everyone for identifying Hank Corwin!

I've seen his name on record albums, and was impressed with his playing--but had no idea what he looked like. Very Happy

Hank used to kid about a Jewish kid from Brooklyn playing country music in Nashville.

I learned a lot from Hank, picking his brains, especially C6th.
