This is no closet queen, but it's a striking mandolin that'll turn heads wherever you take it, and it's a 48 year old vintage Gibson mando that's thousands of dollars cheaper than instruments from the more sought-after eras.
Plenty of pics, but you'll notice right away there's playing wear on the top that was poorly covered by some type of finish application. There's some binding decay on the body points, and bubbling/spotting where the lacquer and plastic binding reacted with each other. The bridge was in the wrong spot for years and pulled some lacquer up when I moved it to the correct spot. Some dings and scratches, but no cracks. Original pickguard is present but shows decay.
Plays comfortably, though bridge is lowered pretty much all the way. Back is beautifully quilted. Case appears to be original, the warranty card brochure (sans card) is still in the case.
