I’ve been looking for this album that I see as honkytonkmemories.com and I can’t find it anywhere. Found one song on YouTube. Anyone know how I can get a copy of this? |

When you listen to Dicky play; listen to how he hits the strings a little behind the beat of time. NOBODY has mastered this other than Jimmy Day; until Dicky.
That kind of passion delivered with dynamics to a song; is just beyond belief and it is what makes you sit towards the front of your chair when listening.

A bunch of people here likely have it and could link you to a copy that you can download if it's truly out of print. You can have my CD if I can find it. All of my CD's are now on mp3's or else I just stream off of Apple Music. |

Jim, I just saw your post. Believe me, I love Dickey’s playing but I paid far, far less than the advertised price. I think it was $15-20. That price advertised on Amazon is ridiculous.

Dicky Overby and that old Sho-Bud LDG made some great music, Add Bobby Flores on fiddle what music.
On You Tube Mona McCall sings Deepening Snow with Dicky and Bobby backing her. Make a man cry in his Colorado Cool-Aid.
You Tube has several Amber Digby videos, With Mr. Overby and Mr. Flores adding great Steel and Fiddle. |

Nice double lick at 100 and 343 on that song, Darling are you ever coming home, and that playing behind the beat certainly puts him in another league, Ricky. Friends as I posted earlier. I have this cd and all I can say is the tone, style and licks that Dickey got was absolutely astonishing. I’ve been playing steel guitar for 40 years and I have been privileged to hear the greats- but Dickey was underrated and overlooked. But Texas sure loved him! Try listening to this cd with a good set of headphones. |

IMO Dickey would be in the top tier of Honky Tonk steel players. So much emotion and feelings in playing. He deserved more recognition than what was given. |

I am honored to say that I have spent a large part of my “career†in the musical shadow of Dicky Overbey, first with Darrell McCall, later with Ronnie Milsap, and lately with Jake Hooker. It has been a blessing and a challenge to try to emulate his unique stylings and passion. He is at the top of the heap for me when it comes to classic, emotive steel playing. _________________ Tommy Detamore

Just for the Record, to borrow from Ray P, Tommy D sets the bar very high himself! If you want to hear the very best in western swing and other trad country styles, get out there and hear Jake Hooker and the Outsiders cause they can't be beat! |

I wish this were available. I love Dicky’s tone and his style as much as any player I’ve heard. His work on Bobby Flores’ Just for the Record is superb. |

I played a singing Saturday evening and met Dickeys widow. She was so kind and of course I just bragged on how great a steel player he was. |
