Hi Folks I just bought a ETS S-10 Sparkle red guitar yesterday. I know the history on the ETS as it was the last steel guitar company Bud Carter had a hands in. Here is the problem. I know some people might wish to purchase a guitar like this but my intention was for Parts to complete a Carter style Sd-10. I am however going to go through it first to make it in clean, playable sale-able shape .
Also Outwest has a lot of ETS parts to expand this guitar. from 0 pedal, more knee levers etc.
I know they are well know for being very light in weight and a pro guitar set up. So my question is would there be any interest in a guitar like this on this forum or should I just go through the guitar and part it out and continue building a Carter style guitar.
thanks for your input
Wayne

There would be interest in the guitar as is. Please don’t part it out.

it would be a disgrace to "part out" a desirable, well functioning, well made steel guitar like an ETS..I had one, and wish i had never sold it. It played super soft, never went out of tune, had a wonderful "old school" sound very much like an old sho bud, and was as light as a feather.. Please! -do the right thing, keep that hard to find pedal steel intact, and sell it on the forum at a fair price, and then source the parts for your new build with the proceeds.

That ETS will sell in a heartbeat right here on thie forum.. They don't come up for sale much because guys that have them tend to hang on to them... I wish I still had mine... bob

I just finished taking it all apart and found a few flaws...nothing major. However after getting into the steel it is not worth using the parts for something else. I will be restoring it and will be selling it as a ETS S-10 steel.
Thanks for your opinions LOL which i basically was of the same mind anyways Smile
Got my answers Please close it up.
Thanks
wayne
