I am looking for a D-10 or SD-10 Carter, Emmons, Mullen, Fessy or late Sho~Bud to completely refinish. (All pull only). If you have one that is in lousy condition and is just sitting in a closet or set up in your music room and you want to up-grade, I might be interested. I don't care what condition the guitar is in, as long as all the parts are there and it has been manufactured within the past 25 years.
Again looking for all-pull professional guitars only.
E-mail me and I'll make you a reasonable offer.
Thanks, Chris Allen Burke

Hey, this is not what I had in mind, but I think we got sumtin' going here. Too many photos of pristeen steels on the forum. I wnat to see everybodys ugly steels.

I am reminded of a story. When I first moved to LA, (1980), I went to see Red Roades at his shop in Hollywood. He was very hospitable and invited me to the back where we chated for a while. I (all of 20 years old), was overwhelmed with his candor and asked if he had his pedal steel around, the one he used to cut so many tracks I loved. Well he said "yer standing next to it". I looked down and was speachless. It was a Fender 400 and was the most miskept guitar I had ever seen. You talk about ugly. It looked like he had spilled untold amounts of beer on it, tobacco burns, the paint was chipping and to boot he said that he had purchased it new and had only changed the strings that broke. So some of them were the original strings. It was tuned to Ab something and I proceded to embarass myself buy trying to play it. He was giggleing the whole time.
I wonder what ever happen to that steel. It was a huge piece of recording and performance history in LA.

But everyone!! I want to see yer ugly steels!
