A query: I never thought to ask while Buddy & Leon were living; curious as to what acoustic guitar Leon Rhodes was playing on the solo on Waltz Across Texas.
It sounds baritone, or some type of gut string. I know he had to convince Ernest that acoustic was the way to go on this number. And of course Charleton's steel is just amazing.

Can anyone fill in the blank on Leons guitar?

Thanks

It really sounds like a steel-string flattop to me. The bass is too good (deep) for it to be nylon strings.

Maybe this one?
