Wow! Never seen one of these. When I saw the thread title, I thought "I wonder if it has a lipstick pickup?"
Sure enough, it does. What a cool little steel. _________________ “The Texan turned out to be good-natured, generous and likable. In three days no one could stand him.”

Good Evening Justin.
If it would not be any trouble for you, could you post the scale length of this Dano lap steel? (From the front edge of the bridge block facing the fretboard ....to the rear edge of the neck nut facing the fretboard). I used to know but just can't find it in my OLD gray matter .
Thank You and Very Best Wishes, _________________ Aloha,

Denny, it's exactly 23" - just like Nat Daniels to have a scale length in-between the Big Names and their 22.5" and 24" scale instruments.
Cheers,

Thank You, Larry.
I apologize for not thanking you until now. I've been quite ill with cancer, and after effects of COVID (aka 'Long Covid', 'Longhaul Covid', and more properly / accurately 'Longhaul COVID Recovery'. But I'm glad I could stumble back here and Thank You. _________________ Aloha,

Wow! These are pretty rare. $800 is probably a really good deal. Not a pretty lap, but I bet it sounds cool!

Hi Denny:
Sorry to hear of your health challenges, but I'm glad to see you're back and also to receive your thanks as well, best wishes and here's to a healthy recovery. (:
The Danelectro is a lot of fun to play, a unique tone, and it looks like it was made in shop class, too. Easily the lightest steel I've played, very resonant. A quirky if not charming piece of the history of the instrument. Nat Daniels was a genius in a lot of ways...
Mahalo!
