From Jim Hillmar ...
Quote:
Carl Smith. This is Carl and his band in the early 1950's - before the classic Tunesmiths line-up. Carl's in the middle with the Gibson J-200 flattop acoustic. On the left with the doubleneck Bigsby steel guitar - that's Johnny Sibert. With the Epiphone archtop that has Bigsby pickups and a Kauffmann Vib-Rola - that's Sammy Pruett. Velma Williams Smith has the Gibson L-5 archtop acoustic and her husband Hal Smith is on upright bass. In the mid 1950's Sibert and Pruett would become key players in Carl's long-time backing band: The Tunesmiths.
