Hello to everyone and thank you for allowing me to become a member.
I am in need of info concerning my 6 string pedal steel.
Currently it is tuned to E f# G# B E G#
A pedal raises B to C#
B pedal raises G#'s to A's
LKL raises E's to F's
RKR lowers E's to E flats
I would like to retune to C E G A C E
And finally to the question...where should I tune the pedals
& Levers? Is it even possible?
If you are wondering why I want to change the tuning, it is
Because I play Dobro now and I'm getting to old to
Start learning all over again!!!
Thank you for any info offered, Bob Black

Retired Forum Boss Bobby Lee used to play an 8-string pedal steel tuned to what he called “Vintage C6”. Strings 7-2 on it are tuned C-E-G-A-C-E. You might have a look at his copedent near the bottom of this page for some ideas:

I am not a steel guitar mechanic, but I would guess you have your work cut out for you as far as re-rodding and adjusting parts. There are some experts here who will be able to advise you on that stuff. Pictures of the undercarriage and changer mechanism on your guitar would be very helpful.
