So I moved it to the regular nonpedal guitar discussion section.
That is definitely a 50s guitar - I think it's generally agreed that the trapezoidal pickups ended about '56 or '57 - e.g., see this old thread - https://www.steelguitarforum.com/Forum2/HTML/003184.html
And as stated there, the brown case is later. Generally it is considered that brown tolex amps and cases didn't come in until 1960, although I suppose it's possible that there may have been some in late '59. But 'brown Fender' is generally early 60s. Like anything at Fender, they didn't waste anything, so some brown cases were occasionally found on later guitars. For example, my original '65 Fender Mustang that I owned back then had an original brown case. |

Thanks Dave. I wasn't aware of where to look for the rules on that. I think this is probably a good guitar. I recently got a good (circa 1970) Deluxe 8 or I'd be all over this one. _________________ Bryce
