Today I went over to Ron Bryson's house to get some tuned eyes and ears on my guitar (Hi, Ron!) While we were fiddling around with my steel, we discovered that one of my ball joint quick disconnects had failed. My CMI has the top load type joints, and I'm now having a difficult time finding replacements. I see the forum store is down, and can't seem to track down anything by simple google action. (perhaps user error, there.) We got her back on the road for now with a little dremel and file action, on a side loader type. I'd like to get three replacements, and probably a couple spares judging by how this one failed. I'm sure it'll happen again in the future. Not opposed to used, but would ideally like new. Thanks y'all! Happy New year! |

Did you try the Show Pro website? That's where the forum store gets them. The website info can be found above there in the LINKS button. |

Yessir, they appear to only have the 90 degree style, and I have the 180 degree style. |

Must be out of stock then, because they normally sell both types. |

Jim Palenscar has the machine tools necessary to convert a 90 degree to an inline connector. All that needs to be done is to drag an end mill to make the slot at the end that is the size of the nipple "waist". The ball of the nipple goes through the 90 degree hole on the side. _________________ Chris Lucker
