Vintage 1960's circa set of 10 (5 x 5) used Grover "PAT PEND U.S.A." (doomed) full size Rotomatic tuners. This set was part of my father's estate. He was an avid life-long steel guitarist who also custom-built and refurnished steel guitars. Given the dating of the tuners, I believe this set was from an early model 10-string steel guitar. All tuning keys move freely and appear to be in good working order with no apparent defects. Lots of shine and luster with a nice touch of toning - excellent used condition. Includes all matching bushings and washers (note - no mounting screws). This set would be a perfect period addition to a vintage restoration project. Price - $150, plus $11.00 shipping (flat rate Priority USPS - all 50 states). I will accept Paypal only. PM if more info is needed.

Hey Mike ...it was snowing here in Hawaii last week too! Upper elevations of Mauna Kea (White Mountain ...Kea being the Hawaiian word for white, as in snow ...long before white people showed up).
BUT.... Mauna Kea's sister, Mauna Loa (Long Mountain ...Loa being Hawaiian word for wide or tall) started erupting from it's peak week before last! Below freezing on Mauna Kea ...about 5,000 degrees F in the lava on Mauna Loa.
Both mountains are only a couple hundred feet shy of 14K'above sea level; But all 5 volcanoes that form "The Big Island" of Hawaii are actually scattered peaks of 1 mountain that is right at 30K' tall from the ocean floor.
Kinda reminds me of what Aloha means: We Folks here don't know if we're coming or going either! _________________ Aloha,

Denny,
Yes - "Mother Nature" can be quite impressive! By way of reference, the tallest peak in Montana is Granite Peak at 12,799 ft. We have had the privilege of visiting the "Big Island" twice over the years and am familiar with your geological references. Most recently, were able to catch the whale migration last February on Maui - awesome experience!! Been keeping an eye on the lava flow - hopefully it will cease before crossing Saddle Road.
Take care...
Mike |
