I just dug this out of my box of redundant gear.

I had forgotten why it had been put to one side but, as my photo shows, the 9v battery connector is broken on the negative (black) side.

It doesn't look as if it wants to be opened up. Is this a lost cause or, in the right hands, a simple repair?

Sorry it's upside-down - my phone camera always does that! Sad

No need to take it apart, just splice a new connector in!

Agreed. The E-Bows I've seen are potted in epoxy and, as they say, have no user serviceable parts inside...

So, I can buy just the flat piece with the two terminals?

I suppose it can be re-soldered?[/b]

Roger, yes the battery connector can be bought separately. I have some here in my collection and will sent you one if you want. Just pm me your address. They come with a few inches of wire. Recommend soldering and heat shrink to cover the splice. I have used the top of a 9v battery after cutting it apart.

I don't know the tolerance space with the battery in the Ebow, I can check mine. Those Amazon ones have a hard plastic cap holding the battery terminals that is quite a bit thicker.

The original looks like this.

Thanks to everyone who replied. The generous offers to help are humbling.

I think I now have this covered - that will depend upon my 'skill' with a soldering iron!

Smile

Roger,I mailed it today. The type sent has a very small footprint so space shouldn't be an issue. Best of luck with your project. If you have trouble with soldering, anyone that can install a volume pedal pot can do this. Otherwise you can send it and I will install for free, just cover return shipping.
