Had one of these. It was stolen about 6 years ago. Would love to find one. I do remember the brass plate on headstock reading something like this: hilo Hawaiian steel guitar company. This is the only photo I have of it. Help!

Hi,
My, my, it may well be a Rickenbacker Frying Pan. Clearly no ordinary kitchenware, and I sincerely hope you may retrieve it somehow.

I have a wooden, Weissenborn styled guitar called a Hilo that I understand was made by Oscar Schmidt Co. In Jersey City. That is an interesting one you had there, it looks very much like a Rickenbacker Frypan but there are some differences, that looks like a big blade pickup for one, also the headstock looks different to me.
Here is a Rickenbacker, did your pickup look like this?

The pickup did not, no cover ..or horseshoe? Also, looks like the 24th fret dots are different, and yes the headstock as well...thanks for the info. Wonder where oscar schmidt company is these days? |

They are a division of Washburn guitars.
I just bought a Oscar Schmidt baritone ukulele, very nice instrument.
