My lap steel is on legs because I care about you, the viewer, and don’t want you to have to look at my lap.

I got a GoPro not long ago for this purpose and teaching. This was a spontaneous little rhythm loop I created and jammed over. I use the Cantabile daw and have my bass, drums, et al VSTs, which I play with a 25-key controller, connected to a software looper. I just do this to jam with because I don’t have the patience to wade through tracks—I just want to play what inspires me in the moment.

That player's-view cam would be a lot of fun at live gigs. The close-up view of the strings and the view beyond the strings... the audience, the dancers, etc.
